   about these pages

These pages allow me share some of my interest in railway signalling with you. Various types of historical information are available:

There is a large number of old signal box diagrams and plans, mainly from the north of England and many from ex-GCR lines.

There is also a selection of interesting (in my opinion!) extracts from old Train Register books - again north of England/LNER areas feature prominently.

Some pages are devoted to the wiring of LNER and LMS block instruments, illustrated with original railway wiring diagrams and instruments, mostly from my collection.

Amongst the other items are a full set of North London Railway signal box diagrams, and an Isle of Wight working timetable from 1936.

Lastly - but certainly not least! - there is a description of the Absolute Block simulator I have developed over the last 13 years.
